My research on ageing is cited in The New York Times

Amanda Taub, writing in The New York Times’ “The World” newsletter, discusses the deepening generational tensions in Europe’s ageing societies and draws on my concept of gerontonomia and my research on the political economy of ageing. The piece, “Angry Youth in Aging Europe” (14 October 2026), links the recent youth protests in France to the economic dilemmas of ageing democracies: as older voters become a larger share of the electorate, governments face stronger incentives to protect pensions and low inflation over growth, employment and investment in the young, producing what I call “democratically sustained economic stagnation”.
